One of our previous residents has taken the time to reflect on life, staff and expectations whilst in our care..
Being in care isnt all that bad. I think to my self, Why are they making my life hell? When actually deep down I know all there trying to do is help us live our lives in the correct way. I was in care at one point, The carers I had were brilliant but I always told my self, There just trying to get into your head to find out your life style. NO!! They’re not. There trying to figure your problems out to help you lead the life you desserve.
I’ve made a lot of memories at my care home. Some bad ones but then some brilliant ones. I wasn’t perfect whilst living there however I tried my best to improve and I’m still living there, learning from the mistakes I made thinking it was the right thing to do. Haha, it honestly wasn’t. You will get consequences and staff do act differently towards you but do you know why? It’s either to protect you with making silly mistakes that can’t be forgiven or it’s because you’ve earned it. You can’t be naughty and not expect a consequence because actually, that’s now how life works these days. Imagine you were one of those kids on the street that has no food, drink, clean clothes, bed, you see. They’re all the things we have and that’s why you should be grateful to have them as some children don’t! You may think, “oh there all 2 faced “etc… but take a tip from someone whose experienced it. All they’re doing is safe guarding you. Like good people do. Life is what you make it and so far mine has been bad but if you behave and do the right things then life will become better and you can live the normal child hood, just in the right way. They don’t expect a lot from you. All they would like is for you to be happy and live the life you deserve. Everyone that comes into care as a story to why they’re where they are. Every single story is going to be different because not everyone is the same.
