Crown House is a modern Residential Family Assessment Centre in a picturesque setting in the charming town of Great Malvern. The Malvern Hills, shopping and all other amenities are within a 5 minute walk from the Centre. Frequent direct railway services connect Great Malvern with Birmingham and London Paddington with good railway links to the rest of the country. Easy access by road is available via the motorway.
The Centre is designed for single parents, couples and children and larger family units. Staffing ratios are high to enable families to have appropriate support at key times. Whilst at Crown House residents are self-catering, providing for their own physical needs and for those of their children. All resident families have modern homely bedrooms and bathrooms.
To help with the assessment of social interaction skills, families are encouraged to mix in leisure periods in the comfortable TV lounges, dining and playrooms. The community philosophy is extended to the kitchen to enable the supervision of residents at key meal preparation times.
Living in this way residents are assessed for their competence in all routine tasks involved in raising a family. Formal structured appraisal complements family observation to provide a comprehensive and balanced assessment package.
