Keys Group win significant Scottish Contract
20.02.12
Belfast based Keys Group, the UK's foremost provider of specialist, therapeutic, residential, education and wider support services for children, is expanding into Scotland following their latest contract win.
Keys Group fought off strong competition to be awarded the latest children's residential care "block" contract consisting of 2 separate "lots" in the Highland: Inter Moray Firth and Lochaber.
The contract, commissioned by the Highland Council is due to begin January 2013 and will be operational for a minimum of 3 years and will include 12 residential care placements (including one Emergency placement).
Keys Group has over 15 years' experience of successfully supplying services to Scottish Councils including the provision of specialist attachment based residential and education services and the Keys Active8 service. This latest success however offers the opportunity for Keys Group to provide specialist residential services to Scottish children. This approach breaks new ground as it brings much needed expertise direct to children rather than consigning them residential placements far removed from family, friends and familiarity.
Margaret Davidson, chairperson of the Committee for Children and Young People said " We are delighted to welcome Keys to Highland to help us deliver high quality residential child care locally, in keeping with our strategic priority".
Commenting on the win, Heather Laffin, Keys Group CEO said, 'We at Keys Group are thrilled to be awarded this prestigious contract in what is for us a new operational region. This new contract allows us to build on a successful year that included the contract commencement for the Cross Regional Project in the Thames Valley and confirms our position as the UK's foremost provider of specialist support services for children.'
Heather added, 'We at Keys Group look forward to the year ahead and the challenge of delivering, in partnership with Highland Council, our vision for the provision of specialist residential services in the Highlands.'
